Samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus review and price

The New samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus is a revival of the Guide 9/Series 9, a laptop range we’ve loved for years because of its strong shape, slim design, and strong performance. Samsung’s rebranding of Ms windows laptops to “Ativ” is a little complicated, as is the breaking of the range into two thin laptops: the Book 9 Lite and Book 9 Plus. The Lite, which I’ve already analyzed, is plastic, has an AMD processor, and is a different type of item, but expenses around $750. The Plus is a far better ultrabook, but it’s $1,399, nearly twice the price. It comes with what amounts to the New Standard in premium Ms windows ultrabooks: a greater-than-1080p 3,200x1,800-resolution touchscreen technology, plus improved battery thanks to a Intel Haswell Core i5 processer inside.

The Book 9 Plus is one of my favorite Ms windows 8 laptops, seems excellent to use, and I’d pay a few hundred more for it, begrudgingly. Even the equivalently designed 13-inch MacBook Air, at the same time with a lower-res non-touch screen, expenses about $300 less. And other Ms windows laptops in this area are available closer to $1,000.

Nevertheless, it’s unequalled the genuine package that the Guide 9 Plus offers. It might not turn to a tablet, but it sure is a lovely, but costly, laptop.

The Book 9 Plus wins the pixel arms competition with a amazing 3,200x1,800-pixel 13.3-inch display; the Toshiba Kirabook clocks in 2,560x1,440 pixels, and the 13-inch Retina Display MacBook Pro has 2,550x1,660. That is incredible pixel solidity, and a huge jump from the 1,600x900-pixel display on the previous Book 9.

But, while that quality display is excellent for quality and viewing high-resolution pictures, a lot of the value is theoretical, since many Ms windows 8 applications don’t take advantage of this resolution yet, and it's unlikely your video diet will include content better than 1080p

Samsung’s top-end Ms windows thin laptop suits the competition and provides an excellent item. It’s not supercheap at $1,399, but it’s not ultra-expensive, either. Still, only having 128GB of on board SSD storage and 4GB of RAM for that cost seems like a disappointment.

This is not a sports convertible tablet-laptop style. It’s just a laptop. But for those who want one of the very best thin Ms windows 8 laptops out there, the Book 9 Plus is an easy pick. Just be ready to spend a few number of more for the benefit.
